The Virtual Ride supports The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies. The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies is the premier environmental academic and research program in the Middle East, preparing future Arab, Jewish, and international environmental leaders to cooperatively solve the region’s environmental challenges.

Some riders have expressed that they want to dedicate a certain number of miles to supporting the Arava Institute. Some riders may plan a group ride in their community for the cause. Other riders may just want to fundraise without committing to any riding. All options are welcome.
Virtual Riders are fundraising for The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies. Throughout the year, Virtual Riders are invited to training rides, and educational programs sponsored by the Arava Institute. During the Arava Institute Mission in October, we will include the Virtual Riders in a few key events.
There is no fundraising minimum. How much you fundraise is totally up to you. We appreciate any money you raise!

Riders who fundraise $1,800 will get Israel Ride shorts and those who fundraise $3,600 will get an Israel Ride jersey. The registration fee does not count towards fundraising as it is not tax-deductible.

More on the Beneficiary

We know that a different future is achievable for Palestinians and Israelis.

The Arava Institute is the premier environmental academic and research program in the Middle East that brings together Israelis, Palestinians, Jordanians, and others to pursue solutions to the region’s environmental challenges and, in so doing, builds the bridges for peace. Students live together, study together, and engage in dialogue together. They cross political, cultural, and social divides that exist in their societies- courageously choosing to see humanity in each other, learn from each other, and become lifelong friends. These young people are tomorrow’s future Arab, Jewish, and international regional environmental leaders.
